Usage Instructions

The VIP electronic cigarette is made up of 4 cooperating components, the cartridge, the atomiser, the battery and the indicator light, all controlled by state of the art microelectronics. The cartridge contains the nicotine solution, which when the device is used, is vaporised by the atomiser using power from the rechargeable battery. The indicator light simulates the end of a traditional cigarette and provides certain other control functions, which will be explained later in this user guide.

Preparation and assembly

Step 1 - charging the rechargeable lithium battery.

Screw the battery clockwise into the battery charger. Plug the charger into the power source, via mains lead and plug or USB connection, depending on your product option. The indicator light on the battery charger will illuminate red and the tip of the cigarette will flash 10 times, indicating charging is in progress. The battery charger indicator light will turn blue when the battery is fully charged and ready for use, this may take 3 hours on the initial charge (2 hours thereafter). Unscrew the battery anti-clockwise from the battery charger when fully charged.

Step 2 – assembling the battery and atomiser unit.

Screw the battery onto the atomiser unit by turning clockwise. Remove the dummy cartridge tip from the atomiser by pulling away from the device.

Step 3 – attaching the cartridge.

Remove a cartridge from the cellophane pack and discard the protective cap. Press the cartridge firmly onto the atomiser, completing the assembly. Warning If during installation of the cartridge any ingredients come in contact with your skin, rinse immediately and thoroughly with clean water.

The VIP electronic cigarette is now ready for use

Draw on the VIP electronic cigarette a couple of times and inhale just as you would on a normal cigarette. This action will turn the device on, indicated by the glow of the VIP electronic cigarette tip. When you stop inhaling, it will automatically stop the atomisation process, and the device will go into standby, and the tip will cease to glow. When you draw on the VIP electronic cigarette, you will taste the flavouring. If you inhale deeply, you will feel the warm vapour in your throat, with less simulated smoke being produced when you exhale. Inhaling to a lesser extent will allow more of the simulated smoke to be visible on the exhale, similar to tobacco smoking. Inhaling to a greater or lesser extent will effect the feeling gained from the nicotine.

Intelligent warning system

To avoid over consumption, the VIP cigarette device will notify you if you inhale 16 times within 1 minute by the tip flashing 10 times. Should you inhale the device continually for more than 5 seconds, the tip will flash 10 times. Neither of these notifications will affect the operation of the VIP device.

VIP cartridge care

The VIP cartridges should be kept in the unopened cellophane bag until use. Once opened, if not used, the concentrated ingredients may dry out. Keep cartridges out of the reach of children and pets. If any of the cartridge ingredients come in contact with your skin rinse immediately and thoroughly with clean water. If swallowed contact your GP.
VIP cartridges are designed only to be used in the VIP electronic cigarette and visa versa and in accordance with the user instructions.

In-use advice

Should you experience little or no vapour, ensure that your battery is fully charged and properly attached to the device, and that the VIP cartridge is firmly inserted in the end of the device. Replace cartridges with a new VIP cartridge when the vapour volume is reduced below a satisfactory level.

How does VIP work?

The non-flammable VIP is driven by modern microelectronic technology, a small rechargeable battery and a unique, safe replaceable cartridge containing water, propylene glycol, nicotine, a scent that emulates a tobacco and other flavorings and a membrane to suspend the ingredients.
When using VIP, the act of inhaling or smoking produces the tactile and craving satisfactions traditional smokers seek, and triggers a vaporizing process that releases a simulated smoke that is actually a vapor mist that harmlessly evaporates into the air within a few seconds.

Are there any aspects of the product I should be aware of?

Yes, just like with many over the counter products, the manufacturer considers its product safe, and wishes to make customers aware of scenarios in which the product should not be used. VIP is for use by smoking adults, not for non smokers or by children, pregnant women, women breast feeding, or persons with or at risk of heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, or taking medicine for depression or asthma. Consult a physician if you experience nicotine misuse symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, dizziness, diarrhea, weakness and rapid heartbeat. If you smoke tobacco products, you are encouraged to stop. VIP is not a smoking cessation product and is not to be used as such.

Are there any maintance issues and how are they resolved?

VIP is very easy to use. In general, the only maintenance required is charging and replacing batteries, as well as inserting fresh cartridges. It is recommended to keep the VIP device away from water.

Is VIP a smoking cessation product?

VIP has never been proven to be a cessation device and is not sold or marketed as such. VIP is an alternative to smoking that offers reduced health risk, freedom to smoke anywhere, social inclusion versus isolation, no first or second hand smoke, virtually odor-free smoking, non-flammability, convenience, and lower cost than traditional smoking.

What are the leading reasons people use VIP?

Most people who smoke, smoke because they enjoy the tactile, emotional and physical sensations. VIP provides all those same pleasures, but without all the problems commonly associated with traditional smoking. The leading reasons people use VIP include:

Is VIP right for anyone?

VIP is intended for use only by adults. No one under the legal smoking age in your state should use VIP, and VIP is not to be sold to persons under the legal smoking age of your state. Additionally, VIP should not be used by anyone who is pregnant or has health concerns without first consulting the advice of a physician.

Can I smoke VIP anywhere?

Since VIP is non-flammable, contains no tobacco and emits no second hand smoke, it is not a form of smoking that would be prohibited by law. VIP customers have used the product in restaurants, on airplanes, at work and in other places where traditional smoking is banned.
Still, do not be surprised when people ask about your smoking VIP. After all, to the casual observer, using VIP creates the appearance of traditional smoking. Customers report that simply explaining to others how VIP works usually creates acceptance for using the product anywhere.

Where does the smoke go?

VIP emits what appears to be smoke, but is actually a virtually odorless mist that evaporates into the air within seconds, similar to the functioning of a humidifier. VIP leaves no visual residue in the air, or lingering smell in clothes, home or car, whereas traditional smoking can leave an unsightly, acrid cloud known to irritate eyes and bother people's other senses.

What does VIP taste and smell like?

Most users of VIP will tell you the flavor emitted by the product replicates cigarettes and cigars, yet the odor from VIP is barely noticeable unlike traditional cigarettes and cigars that create lingering, difficult-to-neutralize smells in rooms, cars and clothing.
VIP cigarette cartridges come in a variety of flavors ranging from simulations of popular smoking flavors such as regular "tobacco" and also menthol flavor available in high, medium and low nicotine, and with zero nicotine. Also available for the VIP cigarette are two new flavors, apple and strawberry, in high and medium nicotine.
VIP also offers a way to smoke in places where smoking was legal but may have been discouraged by friends and family, such as in cars or at home.

How do you use VIP?

VIP is a very easy-to-use, convenient product. It is rigid, doesn't crush and can be stored in a purse, pocket, drawer and any other handy location. When you are ready to use VIP, simply unscrew the indicator light tip at one end of the device, insert a VIP rechargeable battery, and screw the tip back on. Then, at the opposite end of the device, push on your choice of cartridges. At this point, in just a few easy steps, you are ready to begin enjoying VIP.
When you are ready to use the VIP Cigarette simply screw a fully-charge battery to the atomizer. Then at the opposite end of the device, insert (firmly) your choice of VIP Cigarette Cartridge. Now you are ready to draw on the VIP Electronic Cigarette just like you would a traditional tobacco cigarette.

What is nicotine & how does it effect the body?

Nicotine is an alkaloid found in certain plants, predominantly tobacco, and in lower quantities tomato, potato, eggplant and green pepper. When absorbed in small amounts, whether from cigarettes, cigars or VIP, nicotine can cause stimulation, a feeling of relaxation, calmness, and alertness. The effects of nicotine can last from minutes to hours.
The carcinogenic properties of nicotine in a standalone form (i.e., separated from smoking or chewing tobacco) have not been evaluated by the International Agency for Research on Cancer, however current available literature indicates that nicotine in standalone form does not promote the development of cancer in healthy tissue and has no mutagenic properties.

What is PROPYLENE GLYCOL?

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has determined propylene glycol to be safe for use in food, cosmetics and medicines. It is used in food coloring and flavoring, as an additive to keep food, medicines and cosmetics moist and in machines that simulate smoke. In VIP, propylene glycol functions to provide the vapor mist that looks like smoke and to suspend flavor.

How do the ingredients compare to those in common smoking products?

VIP contains only water, propylene glycol, nicotine, a scent that emulates a tobacco flavor and other flavorings and a membrane to suspend the ingredients. None of these ingredients are considered cancer-causing agents. The Food and Drug Administration deems propylene glycol safe. Nicotine itself is not believed to have toxicological effects, offers some therapeutic uses and can be found in pepper, cauliflower, tomato, eggplant, potato and teas.
Cigarettes and cigars, meanwhile, commonly contain tobacco, hundreds of additives, nicotine, glue and paper, which when ignited, according to the Centers for Disease Control, harm nearly every organ of the body, and cause cancer, cardiovascular and respiratory disease.

How long does each cartridge last?

Comparatively, one VIP cartridge will last the equivalent of approximately 15 traditional tobacco cigarettes.
